Here and Now Kids Consultations are focused on early childhood development, special ed, and parenting support.

Who We Support:

• Parents: Focus on problem solving and managing difficult behaviors occuring at home or school. One-to-one parent support via Zoom starts with an initial one hour conversation during which I learn more about your child’s history and we discuss some initial strategies and actionable solutions. Ongoing support sessions are 45 minutes and are both goal oriented and educational for parents as they incorporate startegies based on their child’s developmental level.+

• School Staff: I offer both formal and informal staff development events on a variety of topics as well as child specific consultations. I can observe a child that you are concerned about and will offer an action plan for supporting that child’s needs.

• Educational Companies: early childhood content development and writing

Availability: 1-2 hour consultations Monday-Friday from 9:00 am-2:00 pm

Socialization Groups

NEW* Portland, Maine Socialization Play Groups. Offered on Monday and Thursdays after school in Cape Elizabeth.

Here and Now Kids Playgroup offers children a safe and comfortable space to develop and practice socialization skills, delve into shared interests, and make friends in a welcoming community characterized by both acceptance and fun. 

Through small group experiences and targeted play explorations children will: 

• Increase their confidence and self concept in the group.

• Know and utilize their strengths

• Think about perspective taking and feelings

• Be part of a community and grow in relationships

• Develop dynamic problem solving skills and pragmatic language skills

• Have opportunities to work on their developing self regulation (both physical and emotional)

• Increase their enjoyment in playing with, not just alongside, other children.

Free office hour for parents, teachers, and nannies of participants included in group cost.

One-on-One Support

Two Types:

In-School Support:

Educational and social-emotional support for your child, in their classroom setting.

Utilizing a collaborative team-approach, engaging the child’s educational/therapeutic support team in regular communication/meetings.

Creating goals for the child across domains of development

Making referrals for other outside supports if/when needed.

Home-Based Support:

Early Childhoood Tutoring for ages 3-6

Focuses first on emotional security and second on academic and pre-academic skills (depending on age and ability.)

Areas we can develop: hand strengthening/fine motor work, problem solving, sound-symbol correspondence, early math skills, reading, collaborative play skills, coping skills/self-regulation, effective use of language, handwriting, reading comprehension/asking-answering questions, and many others.
